Itinerary :
Day 01: Hanoi - Arrival
Arrival into Hanoi. Transfer to your hotel for check in. Due to various arrival times, no activities are planned for today and meals are on your own.

Day 02: Hanoi
AM: City tour visiting the Opera House Hoan Kiem lake, Ngoc Son Temple. Return to hotel for rest and lunch break (on own). Late afternoon 1 hr pedicab ride around old quarter drop off at Grand Theater for water puppet show, followed by dinner at local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 03: Hanoi - Halong Bay
Visit to Ho Chi Minh’s former residence, One-Pillar Pagoda, History museum, Fine Arts Museum and Temple of Literature. Lunch at local restaurant then drive to Halong Bay (170 km east of Hanoi). Dinner and overnight at hotel in Halong Bay. (B, L, D)

Day 04: Halong Bay - Hanoi 
Discover Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. “Dragon descending to the sea“ as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 3,000 limestone islets rising from the clear emerald water, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. A 5-hour boat trip will bring you to Thien Cung and Dau Go caves. Enjoy a seafood lunch on board. After the cruise, drive back to Hanoi. Dinner is on your own tonight. (B, L)

Day 05: Hanoi - Hue 
Late morning transfer to Hanoi Airport for flight to Hue. Snack served on board. On arrival, sightseeing in Hue including Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Royal tombs, Imperial Cidatel and other local attractions. Dinner at a local restaurant, hotel check-in and overnight. (B, D)

Day 06: Hue - Hoian 
Morning boat ride on Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba market. Break for lunch (on own). Then depart Hue for Danang across the Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds), passing through many pretty red-tiled villages with fruit orchards, enjoying spectacular views of sky and the sea. Visit Cham Museum, Marble mountain, China Beach then proceed to Hoi An. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel. (B, D)

Day 07: Hoi An 
Discover the historic town which used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries. Its sizeable community of foreign merchants resulted in a unique architectural style with Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. Lunch at Pho Hoi restaurant, followed by visits to the Phuc Kien hall, Japanese covered bridge, Tan Ky old house and the workshop of traditional arts and crafts of Hoi An’s ancient town. Dinner at the Riverside Garden restaurant. Overnight at your resort hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 08: Hoian - Danang - Ho Chi Minh 
Check out of your hotel and transfer to Danang Airport for flight to Saigon. On arrival, transfer to your Saigon Hotel and join your Mekong cruise passengers for the start of your Mekong cruise adventure. (B)
